A fascinating country from the East, Korea 


First of all  let me  tell you why I've picked Korea as the first country to write about.
It was 7-8 years ago I started to watch Korean dramas with suggestion of my cousin. I didnt know anything about Korea at that time even I couldn't show the location of Korea in the map ıf you would ask me. But when I started  to watch Kdramas I really liked them and I searched about everything of Korea. And I decided to learn the language of the country. If you ask me 'did you learn?' I can't say 'yes'. But I can talk with basic words. ( ashamed..). And I had some Korean friends. I still keep in touch with them for almost 5 years. That is my story on how I know about Korea. And now let me give you some information about the Country. 


Korea is a country visited by more than 10 million people every year. The officially name is  Republic Of Korea.

GEOGRAPHY 

Republic Korea is located in East Asia. It is surrounded by the Ocean on three sides. The Capital city is Seoul. Seoul is located on the Han River. The neighboors of South Korea are North Korea, China and Japan.

HISTORY

Korean war began on June 25, 1950. The Korean war was between South Korea and communist North Korea. During Korean war Turkey sent the over 5000 soldiers to Korea for help. So Turkey and South Korea have good relationship and they call eachother as 'Brother Country'. The countries are still divided today and North Korea is still ruled by a communist regime.

CULTURE

Korean culture has similar culture with Turkey

  • The family is the most important part of Korean life
  • The father is the head of the family and it is his resposibility to provide food, clothing of family members
  • when entering a Korean home, they must remove their shoes 
  • they are respectfull to old people thats why they have still formal language rules for talking with older people.

FOOD

food is important part of Korean cultural identity. A Korean meal generally consist of rice, soup and side dishes. 
The most famous Korean meal is noodle and Kimchi. Kimchi is Korea's famous spicy cobbage. It has over a hundred varieties different vegetables.
Another famous food is Kimbap( my favorite one). Kimbap is similar to sushi. Somtimes people call it 'Korean sushi'.

4 INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT KOREA

1) The military period is 2 years
2)They are crazy about plastic surgery
3)Newborn baby is counted 1 year old 
4)They dont like to use '4' number because it pronounce similar of death word in Korean 

Finally, please remember that Korea is developing so fast day by day.

Most of people  want to meet with a polite person. Actually not 'most of' I bet every person want that. Am I wrong ? Do you know someone who wants to meet with a bad or rude person?
